About

Estonian Song and Dance Festival

The Estonian Song and Dance Festival (Laulupidu ja Tantsupidu) is a national event held every five years in Tallinn, Estonia's capital, celebrating the country’s rich tradition of folk dance and music. For its speculative 2030 motion identity, the eight-pointed star, an important symbol in Estonian folk culture and clothing, serves as both the logo and the inspiration for the festival's name, Ühine Täht, meaning "United Star."

The motion identity system combines geometric patterns with flowing fabrics to evoke unity and movement, reflecting the balance between tradition and modernity. Rhythm and interconnectedness are also conveyed through the animated posters and logo, capturing the festival's spirit and energy.
